United Grand Lodge of England

The Masonic Quarterly (MQ) Magazine was until recently the official publication of the United Grand Lodge of England. It has now been replaced by:

Freemasonry Today , a Masonic magazine edited by Freemasons to inform all about our ancient craft. There is a good chance that whatever masonic topic you may be interested in, it has been covered at some time in the pages of Freemasonry Today.

The Library and Museum of Freemasonry is a registered museum housing one of the finest publicly available collections of Masonic material in the world.

There are a number of useful links from the Grand Lodge site to stimulate further Masonic study for the practicing mason and non-mason alike. These point to academic institutions engaged in serious Masonic research and journals which present articles and opinion of topical interest in a popular presentational style. A visit to the following sites is suggested.

The Quatuor Coronati Correspondence Circle is associated with Quatuor Coronati Lodge, the premier Lodge of masonic research. Members receive the annual Transactions of the Lodge, full of well-researched articles on masonic history, as well as regular answers to questions on all aspects of Freemasonry. Their website has interesting snippets of information too. For membership enquiries please contact the Herefordshire Secretary of QCCC, Bro Don Preddy, through the contact page.

The Canonbury Masonic Research Centre is an educational institution for the independent study of Freemasonry and of mystical and esoteric traditions worldwide.

The Sheffield University Centre for Masonic Research was established in the academic session 2000-2001 to undertake and promote objective scholarly research into the historical, social and cultural impact of freemasonry, particularly in Britain.

The Cornerstone Society is also engaged in Masonic studies.

The Masonic Province of Herefordshire is surrounded by a number of other Masonic Provinces and links to their web sites may prove of value in establishing new contacts and promoting Masonic visiting between the Provinces as this is an important aspect of Freemasonry. These links are:
